Photo-seen-the-scenes : Pictures from the Lagos City Criterium 2017

The Lagos City Criterium, a competitive cycling tournament organized by Sustainable Cycling Foundation and Cycology Riding Club, took place on the 11th of November 2017 at the 2.9km technical circuit of the Federal Secretariat Road, Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos State.

The  Crit as it is popularly called is a regular cycling competition organized to raise awareness for cycling as a sustainable sport in Nigeria. It is an event where cycling enthusiasts and professionals from within and outside Nigeria come together to have fun, interact and also compete for prizes from various categories.

Over one hundred cyclists from the Junior, Masters, and Professional Male and Female categories slug it out for over 1 million Naira in prize money. Other prizes shared include Colnago Bikes presented to Miebakka Aggo and Afeez as recognition for their exemplary leadership, a mountain bike donated by XBikes to Mr. Mohammed Bashir in recognition of his selfless service to the sports.

This year’s edition paid host to former Tour de France champion, Andrea Tonti, and renowned sports scientist from the UK, Dr. Garry Palmer.
